Good morning, McCoven!
After yesterday’s win guaranteed a happy flight to Philadelphia, the Giants decided to make it even happier by having it be themed. The theme of this flight? Pablo Sandoval. The players donned their brightest shirts and flashiest shoes and accessories to honor the style icon that is everyone’s favorite Panda.

News of the themed travel started coming out from the beat writers shortly after the game:
Giants have a theme for their flight to Philadelphia. Everyone is dressing up like Pablo Sandoval (red pants, velvet shoes, lots of jewelry, etc.). Pablo was very excited this morning.

Madison Bumgarner did his postgame interview in a black polo shirt. When asked if he was participating in the Pablo theme day, he smiled and said “You won’t get to see it.”

Then the team started sharing videos of the players leaving to get on the bus:

I honestly don’t think I would have known that that was Jeff Samardzija without the shark emoji. But the look works for him.
Then the players got in on the fun, posting pictures and videos on their social media feeds:
I was on with Mychael Urban of 95.7 The Game on Saturday afternoon, and he mentioned Pablo Sandoval’s joy and energy as being a factor in keeping the Giants’ spirits up even in the months where they weren’t doing well. And I think that after today, it’s hard to argue with that. He’s clearly a beloved member of the team.
