I’m an occasionally superstitious baseball fan, so it brings me no pleasure to report that I’ve jinxed the Giants today. I am not able to get to a computer to post these lineups properly.
By that I mean, I can’t do a soft line return on iOS, so the lineups are double-spaced. They’ve been single-spaced during this winning streak and since June 1st.
RF — Jeff McNeil
CF — Michael Conforto
C — Wilson Ramos
2B — Robinson Cano
3B — Todd Frazier
1B — Dominic Smith
LF — J.D. Davis
SS — Amed Rosario
SP —Walker Lockett
This is Lockett’s third major league start. He’s allowed 10 hits and 10 runs in 7.2 innings pitched. In this small sample, he’s thrown primarily a four-seamer around 92 and a changeup. It can be an effective combo, as witnessed by some of the Padres starters.
1B — Brandon Belt
C — Buster Posey
3B — Pablo Sandoval
LF — Alex Dickerson
SS — Brandon Crawford
RF — Mike Yastrzemski
CF — Kevin Pillar
2B — Donovan Solano
SP — Jeff Samardzija
Samardzija has been steady all year. Can he do it one more time and give the Giants a shot at matching their longest winning streak since 2016? Probably not... on account of the jinx.
