The Giants face the Brewers for one more game in today’s rubber match. The Brewers walked it off last night, as the Giants’ comeback fell short. And today they look to turn around their recent string of bad luck, as the Giants try to regain the momentum they’d had leading up to the All Star break and into this series.

Hoping to help them do so is Tyler Beede, who is making his first start since getting sent down before the break. Beede’s last start was quite promising, but the young pitcher had to leave the team to be with his family after the tragic passing of his step-father. And the team needed his roster spot, knowing he wasn’t going to start again until after the break. Probably not the best way to handle the situation on a personal level, but here we are.

Beede is 2-3 with a 5.64 ERA and a 1.66 WHIP, and he’s coming off of a start on July 2nd where he pitched seven innings and only allowed one earned run in the Giants’ 10-4 win over San Diego.
