After winning a series against the Orioles and playing the Dodgers tough, FanPulse voters were practically euphoric, awarding the team with a two-point bump from 38% to 40% confidence in the team’s direction.

Or maybe the voters really responded to the trade for Alex Dickerson earlier in the week.

In any case, fan confidence has risen 13% in just the past two weeks. Getting out of the first inning without being down 8-0 has really changed hearts and minds surrounding this team. Along those lines, Bruce Bochy’s approval rating bump comes as no surprise:

Bochy is up from 77% last week to 83% this week. He’s polling nine points higher than Alex Cora and trails Dave Roberts by just five points. He’s even a point ahead of Bob Melvin. People are very happy he’s starting Tyler Austin against right-handed pitching a bit more often. Or they’re really digging how the team isn’t giving up eight runs in the first inning allowing him to deploy the bullpen more effectively.

Which reminds me — we don’t have a bullpen confidence rating, but if we did, what might it look like? Every month, Doug publishes the bullpen confidence rankings, which are the definitive rankings of trust in the Giants’ relievers, but what say you, gentle Giants fan? I’ll even put a limitation this: outside of Will Smith, which Giants reliever do you have the most confidence in?
