According to Google, the current weather in Denver, Colorado is a chilly 38 degrees, with snow and/or rain falling.

And yet, there will likely be a baseball game at Coors Field today. The game is scheduled to start at 12:10 pm Pacific, though I can’t say for certain that that will end up being the start time. However, according to Andrew Baggarly, although it snowed overnight, it was not sticking to the ground. He said that there will be a window this afternoon where it shouldn’t be raining, so we can possibly expect a delay.

It makes sense to try to get the game in today, rather than have another double-header later in the season. One double-header at Coors Field is bad enough. Nobody deserves more than that.

Anyway, the Giants that will play in the snow today are not quite the same ones that would have played yesterday. If you missed it, there was a flurry of roster moves this morning, including Buster Posey and Drew Pomeranz to the injury list. Apparently Pomeranz, though actually dealing with an injury, will be visiting the White House with the Red Sox today. Something he says he would have done regardless of being on the injury list. (Please take opinions about that to the Champagne Thread, thank you very much. )

Tyler Beede and Aramís García were recalled. Beede will likely be pitching from the bullpen, as the Giants announced that Dereck Rodríguez, Jeff Samardzija and Madison Bumgarner will be pitching the series against the Reds this weekend, so we could see Beede as soon as today and García is in today’s lineup.
