Wild Card Game - San Francisco Giants v New York Mets Photo by Elsa/Getty Images

Good morning, McCoven!

There was a report on Con Las Bases Llenas a couple of days ago that former Giants outfielder, Ángel Pagán, was rescued at sea along with an unnamed minor and Orlando Román, another former MLB player who currently plays for Puerto Rico. Both players were born and raised in Puerto Rico, and both played for the Puerto Rico team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

It’s reported that they were rescued Tuesday morning after a 15 foot wave capsized their boat near Vega Alta, along the northern coast of Puerto Rico.

There’s no mention of the condition of those rescued, but thankfully they were rescued and we hope for the best for all involved. We’ll update this with any other news that may come out about the incident.

Pagán, though not officially retired from the game, has not signed with a major league team since the 2016 season, his last with the Giants.
