Good morning, McCoven!

Today is the two year anniversary of one of the greatest moments of dumb-assery in sports history.

That’s right, the Hunter Strickland vs. Bryce Harper brawl. If you missed it, first of all, how? Second of all, read all about it from Grant here and from me here. With such great out of context lines as:

I mean, you haven’t lived until you’ve seen Mac Williamson gently, politely, but firmly try to grab another grown man’s legs.

What a wild time that was. Hunter Pence was injured and faced fines for coming on the field and trying to help break up the fight. Buster Posey endured #narratives about being a bad teammate for not wanting to get get his head punched over a stupid and ice cold grudgematch. KNBR pundits really had their feathers ruffled over that one. Meanwhile, Michael Morse never played another game after getting hurt in the fight.

Ultimately, the writing should have been on the wall about Strickland’s future (ie: punching the door last season). And though the team moved on from Strickland much like Harper moved on from the Giants during the off-season, we’ll always have this absolute circus to look back on now and then.

Also this, to help brighten up your day:
