Well, we did it, friends. We FINALLY made it to the end of these two series against the Reds. And sure, our friends are now the runs we gave up along the way, now that the starting rotation has been decimated by this team and the Rockies. But this is the last time we’ll have to face the former this year, and that is something to rejoice about.

On a slightly less joyful note, after last night’s comments by Derek Holland, the news this morning, naturally, centered around him and the organization’s response to what he said. Both Bruce Bochy and Farhan Zaidi addressed the media before the game, expressing that they both have open door policies, and wish that Holland would have taken advantage of that to vent his frustration, rather than doing so to the media.

Both reiterate Zaidi’s sentiments from last night that Holland had an MRI before being placed on the Injury List. Zaidi added that he hasn’t spoken with Holland yet, but will do so soon. He said that there are gray areas when it comes to injuries, but that he appreciated that Holland wanted to pitch through it, and said that he felt bad that when Holland did come back from the missed start, it was to pitch in the snow against the Rockies.

Ultimately, Zaidi said this wouldn’t be an issue if the team were playing better, and said that he believes that the team’s record is where the frustration stems from. He said that they have been discussing the possibility of using an opener, but added that that will be Bochy’s decision.

And for now, the starter for Wednesday’s game is still up in the air, with Zaidi saying that there are a couple of players in AAA that might get the call for that game.
