MLB: San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

It’s been one week since the Giants played the Rockies for 18 god-forsaken innings of baseball. If I sound bitter, it’s because I still haven’t caught up on sleep. But I’m not the only one who was bitter about that game, and I’m not talking about the team that lost.

Lost in the delirium of the late-night win was the hilarity (depending on your perspective, I suppose) of the post-game fireworks AFTER the late-night win. I mentioned it briefly in my recap that night, but the game was a Fireworks Night game, which wouldn’t normally be an issue. But when the game lasts until the wee hours of the morning, San Franciscans take issue with it.

This CBS SF Bay Area article is a pretty funny reminder of just how angry non-fans were last week, and I don’t know why it makes me happy in a petty way, but it does. Because if I couldn’t sleep, I’m glad that no one could sleep!

And the Giants’ social media team? Well, they lost no sleep about any of it, embracing the festivities and reveling in the early morning victory.
