Yasiel Puig proved last night that not only is Puig your friend, Puig is also a Forever Giant. He joins the ranks of former Giants Mac Williamson, Kelby Tomlinson, Ehire Adrianza, Hunter Pence, Angel Pagan and Andrew McCutchen.
What do they have in common? A home run off of Clayton Kershaw, naturally. Current Giants Joe Panik and Gerardo Parra are on the list as well. Madison Bumgarner has two, and Buster Posey ties for second overall with three.
A lot of mockery has taken place around the term “Forever Giant” due to how frequently it was awarded, generally on social media, over the last few seasons. However, anyone who hits a home run off of Clayton Kershaw should get it in an honorary capacity.
