Today’s the final day to bid on several Giants-themed auctions that are setup to raise money for the team’s community fund. Among them?
Giants KNBR Auction: Pre-Game Visit with Farhan Zaidi, President of Baseball Ops.
Bid on the opportunity for four guests to talk baseball at a pre-game visit with Giants President of Baseball Operations, Farhan Zaidi. After you meet Mr. Zaidi and get the inside scoop on the San Francisco Giants, watch the game from four Lower Box seats. Mutually agreed upon Monday - Friday 2019 Giants game at Oracle Park. Experience must take place by 8/30/2019.
Have you ever wanted to be lectured on the basics of modern analytics or be ruthlessly scrutinized by a behavioral economist who has figured out how to boil down all human value to a single number and you have at least the minimum bid of $1,500? Well then go to this link and place your bid!
The team’s community auction event ends tonight, Sunday, April 14th, at 7pm.
There are currently zero bids for the Farhan Zaidi pre-game meeting, so now’s your chance to meet with the team’s President of Baseball Operations one-on-one and face-to-face.
Per the auction site:
Net proceeds for this special auction benefit the Giants Community Fund and Junior Giants Baseball Program.
If you need a refresher on these two programs:
The Giants Community Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, collaborates with the San Francisco Giants by using baseball as a forum to encourage underserved youth and their families to live healthy, productive lives.
Junior Giants is a free, non-competitive and coed baseball program for youth ages 5-18. ... Established in 1994, Junior Giants now annually serves over 25,000 participants in 90 leagues. Junior Giants ismore than just baseball and offers several distinctprograms to further enrich a player’s experience.
Meeting with Zaidi isn’t the only unique opportunity up for auction. Check out the full list, but here are some others that really stand out to me:
- Pre-game dugout meeting with Buster Posey
- Pre-game dugout meeting with Pablo Sandoval
- TV & Radio Broadcast Booth Experience
- Pre-Game Field visit and Bruce Bochy meet & greet
On the other hand, if you’re like me, then you don’t have thousands of dollars in disposable income. Scouring the auction for bargains led me to discover this travesty:
Moneyed Giants fans really don’t like Brandon Belt for some reason. $100 is a solid price for a charity auction and an autograph, if you’re into that kind of memorabilia. And if you’re really tight on funds, don’t like Brandon Belt, but still want to contribute, the cheapest item available at the moment is an autographed Austin Slater baseball starting at $60.
