Good morning, McCoven!
An update: I’m still waiting for more information on tickets for the group game. I’m not going to give another target for this, hopefully we’ll get everything ready to go soon, but I’ll let you guys know when I hear something.
Also, today is my birthday, so I thought we’d talk about the most memorable (good or bad) moments in Giants baseball, or baseball more generally, that have taken place on your birthday. Maybe a great game or crazy loss, if your birthday falls during the season, or maybe a trade or signing if it falls in the off-season.
Mine was of the not so good variety. The downside to winter birthdays is that you don’t really have any actual games to go to, unless you can afford to go to Arizona. And the downside to having my birthday, is that it was the day Hunter Pence was hit by a pitch from a Mets rookie, resulting in a broken hand in 2015. This, of course, led to more struggles for Pence as he attempted to return from his injury (only to suffer other, related injuries along the way).
Thankfully he ended up bouncing back after this injury, but it was just another reminder of the precariousness of these spring training games. Where one pitch can throw all of your team’s opening day roster plans out the window, much like it did last season.
Anyway, that got morbid.
Tell me some of your favorite baseball birthday memories!
