NFL: Oakland Raiders at Cincinnati Bengals Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

It’s amazing that SB Nation now has two Oakland Raiders blogs. While it’s apparently not a 100% done deal that the Raiders will play out their Bay Area tenure at Oracle this season, there have been enough rumblings about it that it seems all but certain.

What do we call the team? The Oakland Raiders of San Francisco? A glimpse at our Slack channel:

Maybe we should welcome the East Bay Raiders of the Peninsula with open arms. After all, they have a ““commitment to excellence”, a far cry from any professional baseball team. Maybe the Giants could learn a thing or two from a team that went (checks notes) oh... never mind.

In the meantime, the Giants are going to ride out 2019 with Buster Posey, Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford, and, uh, Evan Longoria and hopefully some league average production from whatever lottery tickets Farhan Zaidi can assemble in Spring Training.

This has not been a fun offseason by any means, but maybe this is the time that we fans really need to reprioritize and realize that nothing lasts forever, even when your team gets smarter, and committing to a team during the down years can be as rewarding as living through the up years.
