Spring training is coming! Spring training is coming!
Okay, sure, not for another month. And then more than a month until the season actually starts.
BUT, we have DATES now! Actual dates! Dates on a calendar, even! Per MLB.com, the first pitchers & catchers workout will be on February 14th, with the first full-squad workout taking place on February 19th. And according to Hank Schulman, pitchers and catchers report on February 12th.
Official now. #SFGIants pitchers and catchers report 2/12. First workout 2/13. First full-squad workout 2/18.

As we gaze out upon the atmospheric river making its way across California, the warnings of thunder storms, multiple feet of snow and flash floods, I ask, is there more welcome news than the announcement of the start of spring training?
Spring weather warming the air, the smell of freshly cut grass, the sound of a ball hitting a glove. All of that sounds pretty good right now.
Hurry up and get here, baseball. We sure do miss you.
