Steven Duggar hit his first big league home run in the fourth inning of tonight’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 19 games Duggar has appeared in with the club, and nearly 80 plate appearances, he had been known more thus far for hitting doubles. Tonight, he went yard for the first time in his major league career.
This is an exciting milestone in a player’s career, so naturally his teammates were excited for him:

Of course not! They gave him the cold shoulder approach. Duggar took it with stoicism, though you can see him briefly drop it when Gorkys Hernández appears to be breaking the act to come congratulate him. He reaches out to him and Hernández just keeps going. Brutal.
Of course they gave up the act eventually and gave him his due. But they did a pretty good job with the rookie fake-out. And, in a game that hadn’t had a lot of highlights, it was something to remember this one by.
