It’s the trade deadline! The Giants are buyers? The Giants are not sellers!
If you haven’t read Grant’s post about the worst trade takes he’s ever written, then check that out over at SB Nation.
Here’s one of the gems:
Yu Darvish was going to make the Dodgers unstoppable
This one I actually published, like a dingus. The Dodgers were reportedly choosing between Justin Verlander, Sonny Gray, and Yu Darvish, and I ranked them accordingly:
Yu Darvish
Sonny Gray
Justin Verlander
Justin Verlander was done. Finished. He was a high-4s ERA guy now, and he was owed a lot of money, to boot.
We know Giants fans sort into the following groups: 1) Never Sell 2) Strip the franchise for parts 3) I don’t care if they win or lose, I watch baseball because I have no better use of my time and/or money 4) If you trade any of my favorite players my chronic medical condition will worsen and I will blame the team 5)

Well, here’s the thread for all of you. Track the day’s news here.
Mike Rizzo said he loves Bryce Harper and he believes in the Nationals, so, no big sell-off for them. The Cardinals just traded Tommy Pham to the Rays because he’s having a “down year”. Watch the haul for him — he’s about 200 days younger than Gorkys Hernandez and is having a slightly worse year, but is under the same amount of team control (free agent in 2022). Oh, right, right. The Giants will never sell.
