MLB: San Francisco Giants at Los Angeles Dodgers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Tuesday! One day closer to being rid of Coors Field for the season. Wait, what do you mean there are three more series there this year??

Well, anyway, we are getting much closer to the return of Madison Bumgarner, which the Giants desperately need. If you missed Doug’s excellent update from this weekend, make sure you read that to see how he did.

TL/dr version: He was good. And many were hoping the team would decide to skip a second rehab start. They might still decide to do that, but for now Bumgarner is scheduled to pitch for San Jose on Thursday.

In other news, Dereck Rodriguez was called up, but didn’t make it into last night’s game. Look forward to an interview with him from Carmen tomorrow!

And now for some housekeeping notes, this is to address the issue of “the thread,” by which I mean the active thread where the daily conversations are taking place.

We’ve talked this out in the comments and for now, this is what we’re doing:

Morning conversation will take place in the comments on the 8:00 am BP thread and remain there until a GameThread is published. After the GameThread, comments will go to the recap when it is posted.

If you notice there has been one of these posted, please post it as a chop (an indication that it is time to leave the current thread), as usual. You are free to post other articles, but make sure to be clear that they are not a chop.

On our end, we will do our best to pin the current thread if and when new articles are posted between chops and we will try to give updates within those threads as to what the status is for the day. Be patient with us, there are more of you than there are of us and sometimes we won’t be able to do those things, but we’re going to do our best.

This is all to address the concerns from community members who felt like they were getting chopped too often and were missing out on all the conversations. We understand that and we’re going to try our best to make this system take hold so that the community continues to thrive and so that we know what you had for lunch and continue to envy the lot of you.
