The Giants face the Angels today at Scottsdale Stadium. Chris Stratton gets the start against JC Ramirez.
With nearly a week of games under their belt, let’s check in on how the Giants are doing so far this spring.
They have scored the second most runs of any team, with 54 (behind Cleveland’s 58 with one more game played). Unfortunately, they have given up the most runs, nearly canceling themselves out with 53, and only an astonishing 31 earned runs. This is, in part, because they have also committed the most errors, with 16.
Some good news, is they are tied with San Diego for the second highest amount of home runs, which is nice to see after last year’s drought.
It is, of course, only the seventh game of spring training, so it’s not time to go buying your tickets to the playoffs or the tank-train just yet. We’re just checking in.
Anyway, though the rain and snow are pouring over much of Northern California, it’s looking to be a cool but clear day in Scottsdale, and a beautiful day for baseball on the radio.
You can tune in on MLB Audio at 12:05 pm PT.
