The community fastball lovers have spoken! The two true 80 pitches in the organization go off the board back to back as Melvin Adon takes his spot behind Ray Black. We love us some velo!

For the final slot in the Top 10 things figure to get interesting as Gregory Santos, Sean Hjelle and Aramis Garcia all had solid contingents backing them the last couple of rounds. How the Adon voting bloc splits between them could provide some weekend drama!

Here’s the list so far:

  1. Joey Bart
  2. Heliot Ramos
  3. Marco Luciano
  4. Shaun Anderson
  5. Logan Webb
  6. Alexander Canario
  7. Chris Shaw
  8. Ray Black
  9. Melvin Adon

The Arizona Fall League seems to have left a strong impression on the community. At the end of the regular season would folks have predicted a higher placement for Adon (who posted a 4.87 ERA in just 77 IP in San Jose with a pedestrian 8.23 K9 and a high 3.94 BB9) then for his San Jose teammate Heath Quinn (.300/.376/.485 in 487 PA)? But their fortunes reversed in the Fall and here we are, with Adon at #9 and Quinn still several positions away from being able to fight his way through the nomination process and onto the board.

Here are the candidates for #10—as usual, in the list below, first name links to the player’s Baseball Reference page, last name goes to Fangraphs.

Aramis Garcia

Gregory Santos

Jalen Miller

Juan De Paula

Sandro Fabian

Sean Hjelle
