The (mostly) silent majority have come forward and spoken, and Chris Shaw joins the list at #7. So, the current list is:
- Joey Bart
- Heliot Ramos
- Marco Luciano
- Shaun Anderson
- Logan Webb
- Alexander Canario
- Chris Shaw
Who will be #8? Well, our latest nominees have been chosen, and because of a tie, we have 5 nominees! Ray Black led the pack with 22 recs, with Aramis Garcia closely behind at 19. Jalen Miller collected 12 recs, and Juan de Paula and Sandro Fabian had 11 recs each, so we’ve included both of them.
This brings us to an interesting set of votes over the week. Ray Black figures to have some impactful voting, but where will Melvin Adon fall later this week, as the runner up at #7? Will Gregory Santos, one of our original nominees, finally get into the list? Will the high ceilings of De Paula or Fabian bring out the votes? Will Hjelle’s clean mechanics and draft pedigree get him into the top 10?
With that in mind, let’s talk schedule:
- Oh yeah, Merry Holidays and Happy Christmas!
- With Christmas tomorrow (Tuesday), we will not post on either Tuesday or Wednesday, to give everyone (hopefully) a full workday to have checked in and let their voice be heard. The poll will stay open until Thursday, Dec. 27th, for the vote for #9.
If you have any questions, leave them in the comments. You will get lots of answers, and the ones from me and Roger might even be right!
One last time, have a Merry Christmas, folks!
As usual, in the list below, first name links to the player’s Baseball Reference page, last name goes to Fangraphs.
