In a interestingly close battle, young Alexander Canario wins out for the San Francisco Giants #6 prospect, edging out a surging Chris Shaw. As often in our CPL here at McCovey Chronicles, potential is favored quite a bit, and that’s proving true this year, although not in the margins seen in the past. So our list is:
- Joey Bart
- Heliot Ramos
- Marco Luciano
- Shaun Anderson
- Logan Webb
- Alexander Canario
Before we move onto the voting for the #7 spot, let’s talk business.
- It’s Nomination Day! Yessiree, it’s time to head to the comments and nominate who should be filling in for the next poll. As usual, you vote for a nominee by hitting ‘rec’ under their name. If you don’t see the player you want to nominate, reply to my first comment to add them! You can nominate as many players as you want. Although we’ve been getting 250+ votes in each poll, the winning nominations are with less than 20 recs, so we’d like more of you participating down there in the comments! And, yes, Ray Black is Back in Black….er…sorry, Back in Eligibility. So when’s that next poll?
- As usual, we will have our next poll on Monday, December 24th, so you have all weekend to vote and nominate. But, we will not post any polls on Tuesday or Wednesday, in an effort to give vacationing, traveling, or sleeping McCoven plenty of time to vote in that poll. The next poll after Monday will be Thursday, December 27th. At that point, we will be returning to our regularly scheduled posting of Monday through Friday…with New Years yet to be determined.
Alright, business is done. So, there’s four left. Will Shaw finally land in the list? Will the Canario voters move to another pitcher that hasn’t seen a full-season like Santos or Hjelle? Or will Melvin Adon’s fantastic Fall League performance convince people?
As usual, in the list below, first name links to the player’s Baseball Reference page, last name goes to Fangraphs.
