Houston Astros v Seattle Mariners

The Astros attempt to stave off elimination tonight in Houston. The New York Yankees have a 3-2 series lead and are already being viewed by many as the favorites to advance, but anything could happen.

Justin Verlander takes the mound against Luis Severino in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series tonight at 5:00 pm on Fox Sports 1.

If the Yankees win, they advance to the World Series.

If the Astros win, the series continues in Houston to Game 7 on Saturday, with pitching match-ups to be determined, if necessary. As a non-partisan baseball fan, I sincerely hope we see this happen.

The winner of the series will face the evil forces of the Dodgers and fittingly hell-ish Los Angeles temperatures of 101 degrees on Tuesday for Game 1 of the 2017 World Series.

So, for this weekend, may the best Dodger-Stoppers win.
