Baseball is here to help distract you from the fact that everything is terrible right now.

Everything is terrible right now, but at least baseball is back! Before you lose yourself in the sweet sounds of the game, take a minute to look at the ways you can help out those affected by the fires currently ravaging Northern California.

So, first up we have the make-up game from last night that got rained out. The Cubs have a 2-1 lead on the Nationals and could close out the series with a win today. Jake Arrieta will be facing Stephen Strasburg, for some reason. (Strasburg was previously reported as being way too sick to pitch yesterday, which apparently changed overnight.) You can watch that one at 1pm on TBS.

Next up is the final game of the Yankees vs. Clevelands series, which is tied 2-2. My fellow Vallejo High School alum CC Sabathia will be facing Corey Kluber. You can catch that elimination game at 5pm on Fox Sports 1.

Regardless of who wins the National League series, they will travel to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series on Saturday, time TBD.

If the Yankees win today, they would travel to Houston to begin the American League Championship Series on Friday. Whereas if the Clevelands win, the Astros will travel to them to face them on Friday, time TBD.

Enjoy the baseball, folks.
