Doug is off this week creating mayhem, so it's Reuben who gets the start. It's our privilege to chat with Wendy Thurm from Sporting News about the Giants, who are about to start a critical series against the Chicago Cubs. This critical series follows a must-win game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which followed the most important game of the year against the Dodgers which was a part of another critical series against those same Dodgers.
In that formerly critical series, Matt Moore nearly no-hit the Dodgers. Does this make him an automatic Giant for life? Are the Dodgers so much more hateable this decade because their players are just so good and not specifically awful characters to root against?
We also discuss the state of baseball writing and talk about our own processes for developing stories and what we still find interesting now that we (and all of you) have heard everything. Wendy also shares her experiences from the Fangraphs Pitch Talk event in San Francisco the other night, which featured our own Garnt Frisbee as well as Giants broadcaster Jon Miller, and Giants GM Bobby Evans. You can watch video of that at this Facebook link.
