After yesterday's sopping mess of baseball news and events, we have a positive update from Arizona. Brandon Belt's groin is fine. That is, his right groin strain is low grade, and he hopes to take batting practice. The MRI showed a mild strain, and he's listed as one of the possible players off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks. He seems likely to avoid the disabled list.
You didn't want to read my "Call up John Bowker and start him at first, even against lefties" post anyway.
In other injury news, Jake Peavy threw a side session and didn't shoot vertebrae out of his nose. In fact, he was throwing hard and without noticeable reservations. The only question is how he'll feel tomorrow. Backs are jerks. Always have been, always will be.
It seems like good news on both counts. It's not like the Giants are going to string them along and waste the active roster spots on players who can't play. I wouldn't even worry about it. That scenario just doesn't make a lick of sense! Ha ha ha ha. Ha hoo. Hoo.
