Brown led off the game with his 9th HR and finished the game with four hits. He also achieved his 30th SB. Also homering for the Grizzlies were Sanchez, playing in his second rehab game, and Parker, playing in his second PCL game.
Berken had a solid start. He has a 4.72 ERA in eighteen starts.
AA: Richmond lost to Binghamton 3-0
(allowing all three runs in the 8th and 9th innings)

Lisson had two of the Flying Squirrels' five hits (all singles) as their lone hitter to reach base twice.
Blach enjoyed perhaps his best start this year. The 7.0 scoreless IP improved his ERA to 3.25.

Jones had his 12th HR and 12th SB.
Vander Tuig had a very good start in his second Cal League start this year.

Johnson was prone to the big inning tonight, with the Sand Gnats scoring five runs in the 1st inning and four runs in the 6th inning. Castillo struck out four of his five batters.

Making a rehab start, Mella pitched a scoreless 1st inning. Gonzalez, the normal starter, had a career-high 8 K. McVey had 4 K in 2.0 perfect IP for his 2nd pro save.

Carbonell hit his 1st pro HR, in a game that officially counts as his pro debut. Metzger's three singles accounted for nearly half of the rookie Giants' seven hits.
Martinez began the game on July 3rd and then resumed the game today. He faced just one batter over the minimum in 4.0 scoreless IP.

Rodriguez continues to be an on-base machine for the Gigantes with his .479 OBP. The 18-year-old Reyes has allowed just 2 ER over his last four starts, improving his ERA to 3.67 through a dozen starts.
