Wednesday highlight from the Giants' farm: Chuckie Jones homered in a three-hit performance.

AAA: Fresno had an off-day
(their first of two scheduled off-days after their all-star break)

AA: Richmond lost to Binghamton 5-1

Richmond: 2B Blake Miller: 1 for 3, 2B, BB, SO

Richmond: SP Chris Stratton: 3.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 BB, 1 K--1 HR, 1 WP
Richmond: RP Steven Okert: 1.1 IP, 2 K
Richmond: RP Hunter Strickland: 1.0 IP, 2 K

Miller was the lone Flying Squirel in the starting lineup to reach base twice.  He has hit safely in three of four EL games after hitting .299/.354/.453 in 364 AB for San Jose.

After a career-high 6 BB, Stratton departed after just 3.0 IP.  He threw just 42 of 80 pitches for strikes.  Okert and Strickland, the second and fourth relievers for the Squirrels, combined for 4 K in 2.1 perfect IP.

A+: San Jose defeated Bakersfield 5-4 (7 innings) in game 1

San Jose: LF Shawn Payne: 2 for 4, SB
San Jose: CF Ryan Lollis: 2 for 4, SB

San Jose: SP Martin Agosta: 5.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 0 K--1 WP
San Jose: RP Bryce Bandilla: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 3 K

Batting in the first two spots in the lineup, Payne and Lollis each singled twice and stole a base.  Both are now in San Jose after Payne started the year in the Sally League, and Lollis spent the first four months in the Eastern League.

Agosta had no strikeouts and nearly two baserunners per inning but still pitched well enough to be credited with the win.  Bandilla had 3 K in a scoreless 9th inning for his 7th save.

A+: San Jose defeated Bakersfield 8-6 (7 innings) in game 2

San Jose: RF Chuckie Jones: 3 for 4, HR
San Jose: C-1B Ben Turner: 2 for 4, 2 2B, SO

San Jose: SP Kendry Flores: 3.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K--1 HR

Jones connected for his 11th HR among three hits.  Turner had his 15th and 16th doubles.  He has hit .291/.352/.371 through 299 AB.

Flores had his shortest start in nearly three months, although he allowed one baserunner after his first pitch resulted in a solo HR.

A-: Augusta lost to Greenville 5-3
(after trailing 5-0 entering the 9th inning)

Augusta: DH Ty Ross: 2 for 4
Augusta: LF Rafael Rodriguez: 2 for 4, CS

Augusta: SP Luis Ysla: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K--1 WP

With two singles each, Ross and Rodriguez edged his AVG upwards to .253 and .267.

Ysla delivered his fourth straight start with 1 ER or less.  He has now surpassed the 100.0 IP threshold, doubling his 51.0 IP last summer in the AZL, and has a 2.21 ERA.

ssA: Salem-Keizer had an off-day
(the final day of their three-day all-star break)

R: Scottsdale had its regular off-day

DSL: Gigantes defeated Mets1 3-2 (10 innings)

Dominican: CF Mikey Edie: 1 for 3, 2B, BB, HBP
Dominican: SP Eber Guzman: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K--2 HB, 2 PO

Edie had his first XBH in nearly three weeks.  The 21-year-old Guzman had his third straight start pitching into the 7th inning.
