Sunday's most notable from the Giants' farm: Mike Kickham allowed just 1 ER but 3 R in 7.0 IP.

AAA: Fresno lost to Salt Lake 7-0

Fresno: 3B Tony Abreu: 2 for 4, SO, E

Fresno: SP Mike Kickham: 7.0 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K

Abreu had two of the Grizzlies' six hits (all singles).

Kickham allowed just 1 ER but took the loss.  In terms of ER, it was his best start in a month, when he had back-to-back starts at the end of June and the start of July with 0 ER.  He has a 3.80 ERA after 22 starts.

AA: Richmond lost to Altoona 6-3
(allowing two runs in both the 7th and 8th innings)

Richmond: LF Devin Harris: 3 for 4, 2B
Richmond: C Tyler LaTorre: 3 for 4

Richmond: SP Clayton Blackburn: 4.2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

With three hits each, Harris and LaTorre combined for half of the Flying Squirrels' dozen hits.  Both have AVGs close to .250.

In his third start since his last DL stint, Blackburn delivered 75 pitches (46 strikes).

A+: San Jose lost to Stockton 7-2

San Jose: 1B Brandon Bednar: 1 for 4, HR, SO
Stockton: RF Matt Olson: 3 for 5, HR

San Jose: SP Joe Biagini: 5.0 IP, 11 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 K--1 WP

Bednar led off the 9th inning with his 3rd HR since his promotion.  Olson, whom the Athletics drafted 47th overall two years ago, connected today for his 32nd HR.  After hitting 9 for 18 with 5 XBH in the four game series at San Jose, the 20-year-old has hit .255/.399/.549 through 408 AB.

Coming off his second longest start of the year, Biagini matched a career-high with 11 H.  His ERA rose to 4.62.

A-: Augusta lost to Kannapolis 10-5
(after trailing 10-1 entering the 5th inning)

Augusta: DH Gabriel Cornier: 1 for 4, HR

Augusta: SP Christian Jones: 1.2 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 0 K

Cornier connected for his 1st HR.  He has 4 HRs in six pro seasons.

Jones had his shortest start since his first start this year.  His ERA rose to 3.34.

ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Tri-City 5-3

Salem-Keizer: RF Austin Slater: 2 for 3, 2 2B, HBP

Salem-Keizer: SP Andrew Leenhouts: 4.2 IP, 11 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K--1 WP

Batting leadoff, Harrison singled three times, raising his AVG to .273.  After fifteen singles in his first seven NWL games, Slater doubled twice.

Leenhouts allowed a new season-high 11 H.  His BAA is up to .304.

Scottsdale: 1B Chase Compton: 4 for 5

Scottsdale: SP Logan Webb: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
Scottsdale: RP Rayan Hernandez: 1.0 IP, 2 K

Metzger and Compton each reached base four times.

Webb made his first start in three pro appearances.  The 18-year-old Hernandez had 2 K in a perfect 8th inning.
