Saturday highlights from the Giants' farm: Mark Minicozzi, Tyler Horan, and Skyler Ewing each homered while reaching base three times.  Also notable, Jesus Galindo had 3 XBH, and Ty Ross homered and doubled.

AAA: Fresno defeated Salt Lake 11-7
(scoring six runs in the 6th inning)

Fresno: LF Mark Minicozzi: 3 for 4, HR
Fresno: SS Chris Dominguez: 1 for 4, HR, BB, SO

Fresno: SP Austin Fleet: 6.0 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 4 K--1 HR
Fresno: RP Erik Cordier: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Dominguez, who homered for the third straight day, and Minicozzi hit their 18th and 8th HRs.

Fleet came up a bit shy of a quality start in his second start for the Grizzlies this year--not that the conditions were pitcher friendly with a gametime temperature of 107 and the winding blowing out to RF at 14 mph.  Cordier pitched a perfect 8th inning.

AA: Richmond lost to Altoona 7-6

Richmond: SS Kelby Tomlinson: 1 for 3, HR, BB, SO, E
Richmond: C Eliezer Zambrano: 3 for 4

Richmond: SP Jack Snodgrass: 5.1 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 4 BB, 4 K

Tomlinson led off the game with his 1st HR this year (and 5th pro HR).  Zambrano's three singles paced the Flying Squirrels' nine-hit attack and raised his AVG to .263.

Snodgrass yielded 5 ER over his final three innings before departing.  The 6 ER matched a season-high, but his ERA remains below 3.50.

A+: San Jose lost to Stockton 13-7
(allowing seven runs in the 1st inning)

San Jose: RP Jeff Soptic: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 3 K--1 WP

Horan's strong start to the Cal League continued.  After reaching bases four times in his debut, he homered in his second game.  With his 8th triple and 20th and 21st doubles, Galindo had 3 XBH.  He has hit .272/.340/.383 through 386 AB.

After Lujan's disaster start, Soptic provided 3.0 scoreless IP in long relief.

A-: Augusta defeated Kannapolis 5-2

Augusta: DH Ty Ross: 2 for 5, HR, 2B

Augusta: SP Robert Ramer: 6.0+ IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 4 K--1 WP

Ross's hot week continues.  Over his six-game hitting streak, he has hit 10 for 22 with 3 HR and 3 doubles.

Ramer had his first quality start.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Tri-City 12-2

Ewing's strong start to his pro career continues--last night with his 4th HR while reaching base four times.  He has hit .314/.438/.480 through his first 102 AB in the NWL.

Forjet had his third straight quality start, and McCasland finished with a perfect 9th inning.

R: Giants defeated Cubs 7-3

Scottsdale: SS Hector Mercedes: 3 for 4
Scottsdale: 3B Jonah Arenado: 3 for 5, 2B

Scottsdale: SP Samuel Coonrod: 2.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB< 2 K

Arenado, Mercedes, and Price each had three of the rookie Giants' fifteen hits.

Coonrod made his second start.

DSL: Gigantes defeated Rockies 2-1

Dominican: SP Deiyerbert Bolivar: 6.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 K--1 WP

While the Gigantes' offense managed just two hits, Bolivar kept the Rockies scoreless as well.  He has a 1.98 ERA in his seven starts.
