Coming off his complete-game shutout, Heston allowed nearly twice as many baserunners in 5.1 IP as he did in 9.0 IP in his previous start. His ERA rose to 3.36. Rosario and Broadway, the latter making just his seventh appearance this year, combined for 2.2 perfect IP. Cooney, one of the Cardinals' top ten prospects, delivered a quality start. He has a 3.47 ERA in 26 starts this year.

The Flying Squirrels' corner infielders both homered in three-hit performances. Lisson's 18th HR was his third big fly in his last four games. Villalona's 3 XBH hopefully snapped his second half skid. He has hit just .129/.198/.190 in 116 AB since the all-star break, including just 2 XBH before tonight.
Coming off two outstanding starts (15.0 scoreless IP), Blackburn allowed a season-high 7 R in a season-low 1.2 IP. His ERA rose to 3.31. Okert struck out four of his eight batters.
