Saturday's most notable from the Giants' farm: Gary Brown and Mitchell Delfino each had three hits.

AAA: Fresno lost to Nashville 6-2

Fresno: CF Gary Brown: 3 for 4, 2B, CS

Fresno: SP Kelvin Marte: 5.1 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Fresno: RP Brett Bochy: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 4 K

With his 22nd double and a couple singles, Brown raised his AVG to .271.

Marte has allowed 4+ ER in three of his five PCL starts.  Bochy struck out four of his six batters.  His component stats are 48 H, 23 BB, 8 HR, and 46 K in 50.0 IP over 32 PCL appearances.

AA: Richmond defeated Bowie 7-2

Richmond: SS Kelby Tomlinson: 2 for 4, SH, SO, SB

Richmond: SP Chris Stratton: 4.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 4 K

Tomlinson, one of two Flying Squirrels with two hits, got his 47th SB.  He had just 9 SB last year but 36 SB the year before.

In a game with an hour rain delay, Stratton was limited to 4.0 IP.  Despite allowing two baserunners per inning, he did not allow an earned run.

A+: San Jose defeated Visalia 4-2

San Jose: 3B Mitch Delfino: 3 for 4, 3B, 2B

San Jose: SP Joe Kurrasch: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 K
San Jose: RP Ray Black: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Delfino had his 4th triple, 28th double, and a single to lead the Giants' offense.  He has hit .290/.333/.427 through 503 AB in his third pro campaign.

Kurrasch, who had a sub-2.00 ERA at the Cal League's all-star break but an ERA closer to 5.00 since, had just his second quality start in his last six starts.  Black pitched a perfect 7th inning in his Cal League debut.

A-: Augusta lost to Lexington 4-2

Augusta: SS Rando Moreno: 1 for 3, 2B, GiDP, E

Augusta: SP Steven Messner: 5.1 IP, 10 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K--1 HB

Moreno's 6th double was one of just four hits for the GreenJackets.

In eleven starts, Messner has allowed 88 H in 64.2 IP (.330 BAA).

ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Tri-City 6-2

Salem-Keizer: LF Hunter Cole: 2 for 4

Salem-Keizer: SP Nicholas Gonzalez: 6.2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 0 K

Cole was the lone Volcano with two hits.

Despite no strikeouts, Gonalez delivered his second straight quality start.

R: Giants defeated Indians 7-4

Scottsdale: CF Richard Amion: 2 for 4, SO, SB

Scottsdale: SP Matt Gage: 4.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

Amion was the lone rookie Giant with two hits.  He has a .254 AVG and 8 SB.

With 4.0 scoreless IP, Gage brough his ERA below 2.00 through 33.1 IP.
