Friday highlight from the Giants' farm: Chris Dominguez homered among four hits.  Also highlight-worthy, Rafael Rodriguez homered while reaching base three times, and Chase Johnson had 6.0 scoreless IP.

AAA: Fresno lost to Reno 7-4
(allowing three runs in both the 4th and 6th innings)

Fresno: SS Chris Dominguez: 4 for 5, HR
Fresno: C Guillermo Quiroz: 3 for 4, 2B

Fresno: SP Jason Berken: 5.2 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Fresno: RP Andrew Carignan: 2.0 IP, 3 K

With 5 HRs in his last nine games, Dominguez now has 17 HRs this year.  With six multi-hit games in his last ten games, his AVG is up to .276 (through 402 AB).  Quiroz added three hits, including his 12th double, to match Dominguez's .276 AVG.

Berken had his second straight start allowing 4+ ER.  Carignan, pitching his eighth game for the Grizzlies, had 3 K in 2.0 perfect IP.

AA: Richmond lost to Altoona 7-3
(allowing five runs over the 4th and 5th innings)

Richmond: 3B Mario Lisson: 2 for 3, 2B, HBP

Richmond: SP Ty Blach: 5.0 IP, 10 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 2 K--1 IBB

Lisson reached base three times.

With 4+ ER in three of his last five starts, Blach's ERA has risen to 3.46, which remains good enough to be in the top ten among Eastern League qualifiers.

A+: San Jose defeated Stockton 5-3
(scoring four runs in the 4th inning)

San Jose: LF Tyler Horan: 2 for 2, 2 BB, SB

San Jose: SP Nick Vander Tuig: 5.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K--1 HB

Making his Cal League debut after hitting .273/.350/.481 in 370 AB in the Sally League, Horan reached base in all four plate appearances.

Vander Tuig, making just his eighth start among twelve appearances this year, made his season debut in the Cal League.  He also started one game for San Jose last year.  He threw 69 pitches (48 strikes) and had a 7/1 GO/FO line.

A-: Augusta defeated Kannapolis 5-0
(after scoring three runs in the 2nd inning)

Augusta: LF Rafael Rodriguez: 1 for 2, HR, BB, HBP

Augusta: SP Chase Johnson: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K

Raf-Rod his his 5th HR, a two-run blast in the 8th inning, while reaching base three times.  Ross also reached base three times.  Both players still have OBPs below .330.  As a team, Augusta has a .311 OBP, with Ross a bit above and Raf-Rod a bit below that mark.

Johnson had one of his best starts this year, improving his ERA to 4.62.  Castillo and Smith combined to strike out five of their six batters during perfect 7th and 9th innings.

ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Tri-City 4-3 (10 innings)

Salem-Keizer: RF Austin Slater: 3 for 4, BB

Salem-Keizer: SP Ethan Miller: 6.0 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

Slater's three singles accounted for over half of the Volcanoes' five hits and raised his AVG to .500 through his first six NWL games.

Miller delivered his fourth straight quality start.  After ten starts, his component stats are 60 H, 11 BB, and 41 K in 53.2 IP.

R: Scottsdale had an off-day

DSL: Gigantes defeated Rockies 9-1

Dominican: LF Richard Rodriguez: 3 for 5, BB, SB
Dominican: SP Prebito Reyes: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

Rodriguez had three more hits, raising the 21-year-old's AVG to .397 through 174 AB.  His AVG was below .250 in each of his three previous pro seasons.  With just 2 ER over his last three starts, the 18-year-old Reyes has improved his ERA to 4.03 through his first eleven pro starts.
