Monday highlight from the Giants' farm: Joan Gregorio allowed 1 R in 7.0 IP.

AAA: Fresno defeated Tacoma 4-3 (11 innings)

Fresno: 1B Mark Minicozzi: 2 for 4, BB, GiDP

Fresno: SP Kelvin Marte: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K--3 WP, 1 BK

Minicozzi had two of the Giants' eight hit (all singles) and one of their eight walks.  He has a .410 OBP this year.

Marte has delivered two quality starts in his first three PCL starts.

AA: Richmond had an off-day
(the second of three straight scheduled Monday off-days)

A+: San Jose had an off-day
(their next to last scheduled off-day this year)

A-: Augusta defeated West Virginia 2-1
(scoring a run in both the 8th and 9th innings)

Augusta: RF Chris Lofton: 2 for 3, BB, 2 SB
Augusta: LF Cristian Paulino: 1 for 3, HR, HBP, SO, SB

With two outs in the 9th inning, Paulino connected for his 3rd HR to score the game's decisive run.  Lofton reached base three times.

Gregorio had his most effective start since returning from the DL two months ago.  Heredia, one of the Pirates' top 15 prospects, had a very good start the day after his 20th birthday.  Still, his season ERA is nearly 4.00.

Salem-Keizer: C Aramis Garcia: 1 for 3, HR

Salem-Keizer: SP Keury Mella: 2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

Arroyo hit his 4th NWL HR, and Garcia hit his 1st pro HR.

Pitching on three days rest, Mella made a second rehab start.  He had 2.0 scoreless IP.  The three relievers who immediately followed him combined for 12 ER in 6.0 IP.

R: Scottsdale had their regular off-day

DSL: Gigantes defeated Cardinals 3-2

Dominican: DH Mecky Coronado: 2 for 3, 2 BB
Dominican: SP Victor Concepcion: 6.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 7 K--1 HR

Coronado's third straight multi-hit game raised his AVG to .297.  Concepcion bounced back form his last start (5 ER in 1.2 IP) with a quality start.  He has had 7+ K in four of his last five starts.  His K/BB ratio is nearly 5.00.
