Saturday highlights from the Giants' farm: Mario Lisson homered while reaching base three times, Craig Massoni while reaching base in five of six plate appearance during a doubleheader, Joe Biagini had 7.0 scoreless IP, and Christian Jones allowed just 1 R in 6.0 IP.

AAA: Fresno lost to Tacoma 13-10
(allowing five runs in the 9th inning)

Dominguez and Santos each had three hits.  In his third PCL campaign, Dominguez has hit .276/.310/.469 through 431 AB.  Minicozzi hit his 10th HR.  Romero, a late draft pick out of Oregon State by the Mariners four years ago, had a big game.  He reached base four times, including via a walk-off grand slam.

Kickham yielded 8 ER on a season-high 12 H.  His ERA rose above 4.00.

AA: Portland lost to Richmond 12-7 (11 innings)
(after scoring four runs over the 8th and 9th innings to tie)

Lisson homered for the four time in his last six games, raising his season total to 16 HR.  Harris hit his 14th HR this year, leading off the 10th inning as a pinch hitter.  Batting ninth in the order, Blair reached base four times.

Blackburn achieved his longest start in over three months.  But he also allowed a season-high 5 ER, raising his ERA to 3.20.

A+: San Jose defeated Lancaster 4-0
(after leading 3-0 entering the 5th inning)

San Jose: RF Chuckie Jones: 2 for 4, HR, SO

San Jose: SP Joe Biagini: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 1 K
San Jose: RP Mason McVay: 1.0 IP, 2 K

Jones hit his 13th HR.  By comparison, he had hit 17 HRs over the last two seasons combined.

Making his 20th start, Biagini did not yield an earned run for the first time since his first start this year.  McVay had 2 K in a perfect 9th inning.

A-: Augusta lost to Savannah 9-2 (7 innings) in game 1
(allowing eight runs over the final two innings)

Savannah: 1B Domonic Smith: 2 for 4, HR, 2B, 2 SO

Augusta: SP Robert Ramer: 5.0+ IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 8 K

Massoni connected for his 1st Sally League big fly.  Smith, whom the Mets drafted eleventh overall a year ago, connected for his 1st HR this year.  He finished the doubleheader with exactly 400 AB.

Ramer began the game with 4.0 scoreless IP before allowing 1 ER in the 5th inning and not retiring either batter faced in the 6th inning.

A-: Augusta defeated Savannah 3-1 (7 innings) in game 2

Massoni reached base in all three plate appearances.

Jones bounced back from his previous start (5 ER in 1.2 IP) with this fine effort.  The 8 K were the most he has had in over two months as his strikeout rate has declined in the second half.  After 50 K in 42.2 IP in eleven first half start, he has 32 K in 42.1 IP in eight second half starts.  Smith struck out all three of his batters for his 4th save.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Boise 16-3
(after leading 16-1 entering the 5th inning)

Salem-Keizer: SP Jason Forjet: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K

Arroyo and Ewing connected for their 3rd and 5th HRs.

With a fine start and more than adequate run support, Forjet improved his W-L record to 6-0.

R: Giants lost to Diamondbacks 7-5

Scottsdale: C Rene Melendez: 1 for 3, 2 BB, GiDP, 2 PB

Scottsdale: SP Michael Santos: 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K--1 HB
Scottsdale: RP Michael Connolly: 2.0 IP, 5 K

Murray and Melendez each reached base three times.

Santos achieved his tenth straight start with exactly 5.0 IP.  Not allowing an earned run, he brought his ERA back below 2.00.  Connolly, who had 6 K over his first eight appearances, struck out five of his six batters.

DSL: Gigantes defeated Nationals 8-5

Dominican: DH Mecky Coronoado: 2 for 5, HR, 2B
Dominican: SP Alejandro Flores: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

The 17-year-old Coronado connected for his 1st pro HR.  Making his ninth start, Flores matched a season high with 4 R.
