Tuesday highlight from the Giants' farm: Adam Duvall homered twice.  Also notable, Mario Lisson homered and doubled.

AAA: Fresno defeated Sacramento 14-2
(after scoring six runs in the 1st inning)

Fresno: 3B Adam Duvall: 3 for 5, 2 HR, SO
Fresno: DH Tony Abreu: 3 for 5, 2B

Fresno: SP Mitch Lively: 5.0 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K

Duvall hit a pair of three-run HRs--his 24th HR in the 1st inning and his 25th HR in the 7th inning.  Brown and Abreu also had three hits, including their 15th and 13th doubles.  Their AVGs are now .275 and .276.

Lively had his third straight start allowing 2 R or less, but tonight a relatively high pitch count limited him to 5.0 IP.  He threw 99 pitches (64 strikes).

AA: Richmond defeated Akron 9-4
(after leading 8-1 entering the 6th inning)

Richmond: 3B Mario Lisson: 2 for 4, HR, 2B
Richmond: RF Jarrett Parker: 1 for 4, HR, 2 SO

Richmond: SP Austin Fleet: 5.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 7 K

Lisson and Parker hit their 11th and 8th HRs.

Fleet had a season-high 7 K and improved his W-L record to 6-1.

A+: San Jose defeated Bakersfield 5-2
(scoring three runs in the 6th inning)

San Jose: 2B Blake Miller: 1 for 4, HR, SO
San Jose: SS Alberto Robles: 2 for 4

San Jose: SP Joe Biagini: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K--1 HR

Robles was the lone Giant with two hits.  Miller led off the 2nd inning with his 8th HR.

Biagini had his second straight start with 2 R in 7.0 IP.  After an ERA over 5.00 in each of his two pro seasons, he has a 3.90 ERA through fifteen starts this year.

A-: Augusta defeated Savannah 6-4

Augusta: 2B Ryan Jones: 1 for 4, HR

Augusta: SP Steven Messner: 6.0 IP, 10 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

Augusta: RP Daniel Slania: 1.0 IP, 2 K

Sy reached base three times.  With 7 H and 9 BB over his last seven games, his OBP is up to .343.  Jones hit his 2nd pro HR (in three seasons).

Messner allowed a career-high 10 H.  He has allowed 8+ H in each of his four starts for a .333 BAA.  Black and Slania combined for 3 K in 2.0 perfect IP.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Eugene 4-3

Salem-Keizer: 2B Brett Kay: 1 for 2, BB

Salem-Keizer: SP Jason Forjet: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K--1 HB

Kay was one of three Volcanoes to reach base twice.  But batting ninth, he did so in just three plate appearances.

Forjet delivered his second straight quality start.  He has a 3.33 ERA through five starts.

R: Giants lost to Brewers 5-3

Scottsdale: 2B Kevin Rivera: 3 for 5, 2B, SO

Scottsdale: SP Kendry Melo: 4.0 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K--2 WP

Rivera had half of the rookie Giants' six hits.  The 18-year-old has hit .257/.325/.314 through his first 35 pro AB.

Melo made his first start after three relief appearances.  He has allowed more than his share of baserunners with both his H/IP and BB/IP above 1.00 (12 H and 12 BB in 11.0 IP).
