Saturday highlights from the Giants' farm: Andrew Susac homered while reaching base three times, both Tyler Horan and Jeremy Sy homered in multi-hit performances, and Tyler LaTorre reached base in all four plate appearances.

AAA: Fresno defeated Tacoma 5-1
(after scoring three runs in the 1st inning)

Fresno: SP Jose De Paula: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
Fresno: RP Heath Hembree: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Ford and Susac both homered in the 1st inning, going deep for their 3rd and 8th HRs.

De Paula made his sixth start this year.  He followed up his 4.0 no-hit, scoreless IP five days with another 4.0 scoreless IP before allowing a run in the 5th inning.  Hembree pitched a perfect 9th inning.  His component stats are now 38 H, 10 BB, 4 HR, and 39 K in 34.1 IP.

AA: Richmond defeated Reading 5-4
(scoring four runs in the 3rd inning)

Richmond: 3B Mario Lisson: 2 for 3, 2B, BB
Richmond: C Tyler LaTorre: 3 for 3, BB

Richmond: SP Ty Blach: 6.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
Richmond: RP Edwin Quirarte: 2.0 IP, 1 K

LaTorre reached base in all four plate appearances.  Lisson also reached base three times.

Making his sixteenth start, Blach allowed a new season-high 4 ER, although that was still good enough for the win.  His ERA remains below 3.00.  Quirarte's 2.0 perfect IP brought his ERA back below 3.50.

A+: San Jose lost to Stockton 4-3
(after training 3-1 entering the 3rd inning)

San Jose: 1B Brandon Bednar: 2 for 4

San Jose: SP Kendry Flores: 4.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 K--1 HB, 1 WP

Bednar, who was promoted from the Sally League earlier this week, has hit safely in all four Cal League games.  Tonight he was one of three Giants with two hits each.

Flores had one of his shorter starts this year.  He allowed nearly half his batters (10 of 21) to reach base.

A-: Augusta defeated Greenville 6-5
(rallying with three runs in the 9th inning)

Augusta: RF Tyler Horan: 2 for 4, HR, SO
Augusta: DH Jeremy Sy: 2 for 3, HR, BB

Augusta: SP Chase Johnson: 5.0 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K--1 WP

Horan and Sy hit their 11th and 7th HRs.  They have combined for nearly half of the GreenJackets' HRs (18 of 40).  Among the eleven GreenJackets with at least 140 AB this year, they also are the top two in OBP at .348 and .338.

Johnson matched a season-high with 6 K--his fifth time with 6 K in fourteen starts.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated HIllsboro 7-6
(after leading 6-0 entering the 6th inning)

Salem-Keizer: SS Christian Arroyo: 3 for 5

Salem-Keizer: 1B Skyler Ewing: 2 for 4, HR, BB

Salem-Keizer: SP Nicholas Gonzalez: 5.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

While all nine Volcanoes in the lineup had a hit, only three reached base twice, and those three in fact reached base three times each.  Ewing connected for his 2nd pro HR.  Callaway has five doubles in his last three games, raising his SLG to nearly .475.  Arroyo's three singles raised his AVG to nearly .300.

Gonzalez began the game with five scoreless frames before allowing three unearned runs in the 6th inning.  The performance brought his ERA below 3.00 after five starts.

R: Giants lost to White Sox 8-6
(allowing seven runs in the 9th inning)

Scottsdale: DH Luis Lacen: 2 for 4, SB

Scottsdale: SP Michael Santos: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K--1 HB, 1 WP
