Tuesday highlights from the Giants' farm: Jarrett Parker homered while reaching base four times, and Pat Young and Joan Gregorio each allowed just 1 R in their starts.

AAA: Fresno lost to Reno 7-3
(after trailing 6-0 entering the 6th inning)

Fresno: SS Ydwin Villegas: 1 for 3, 2B, BB
Reno: SS Ronny Cedeno: 4 for 5, HR

Fresno: SP Mike Kickham: 6.0 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 6 K--1 WP
Fresno: RP Erik Cordier: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Brown and Villegas, playing their first PCL games since early June, both reached base twice.  Cedeno, now in the Diamondbacks organization, connected for his 2nd HR this year among four hits.

Kickhan had a below-average start.  He did complete 6.0 IP, but his ERA rose to .380.  Cordier pitched a perfect 9th inning.

AA: Richmond defeated Harrisburg 5-2

Parker his his 12th HR and 19th double while reaching base in all four plate appearances.  In his fourth pro season, he has hit .275/.369/.462 through 357 AB.

Mejia faced just one batter over the minimum in 4.0 scoreless IP.  In long relief, Quirarte also faced just one batter over the minimum.  Strickland pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 7th save.

A+: San Jose defeated Modesto 3-2
(after leading 3-0 entering the 5th inning)

San Jose: C Ben Turner: 2 for 3, 2B, BB

San Jose: SP Pat Young: 7.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
San Jose: RP Bryce Bandilla: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Turner reached base three times, raising his OBP above .350.

Young delivered a quality start for the fourth time in his last five starts.  Bandilla pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 5th save.

A-: Augusta defeated Greensboro 8-5

Augusta: 3B Sam Mende: 3 for 4, 2B, SB

Augusta: SP Joan Gregorio: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K--1 WP

Playing his third game for the GreenJackets, Mende had three hits.

Gregorio's seventh start since returning from the DL in mid-June was his first quality start.  He has allowed just 1 R in four of his last five starts as he has generally pitched a little deeper into each game.

ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Eugene 8-6

Fargas hit his 3rd HR and 3rd double while reaching base three times.  With an eight-game hitting streak, he has raised his OPS above .700.

Leenhouts matched a season-high with 5 ER.  He has a 4.78 ERA after ten starts.  Singer had 2.0 perfect IP, but his ERA remains above 5.00.

R: Giants lost to Athletics 14-2

Scottsdale: CF Daniel Carbonell: 1 for 3, 2B

Scottsdale: SP Rodolfo Martinez: 2.1 IP, 7 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 3 BB, 0 K--1 HR

Carbonell doubled in his second game in the U.S.

Martinez allowed a season-high 7 ER in his sixth start.  His ERA is nearly 12.00 after six starts.

DSL: Gigantes lost to Red Sox 7-3

Dominican: 1B Miguel Gomez: 2 for 4
Dominican: RP Reymi Rodriguez: 4.0 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K--1 HB, 1 WP

Gomez had two of the Gigantes' eight hits (all singles), raising his AVG to .346.  Rodriguez's tenth relief appearance was his longest this year.
