Brandon Belt says he's 'good now' in radio interview

No news was bad news. We just got some news, which is good news by default.

Every day without good news about Brandon Belt was a day closer to really bad news. Here, then, is some good news. Belt was on 95.7 the Game on Monday, and he talked about returning soon.

"I am good now. I was in a fog for a little while, I’m not going to lie. It was a weird place, but I seem to be coming out of it and I feel good. So hopefully in the next few days I can get back out there," Belt said.

The esteemed Twitterer @LOLKNBR (!) first relayed the interview, and Bay Area Sports Guy transcribed key portions of it so I could go make lunch. Other nuggets from the interview:

  • Belt's still not close to returning, saying "It’s been nine or ten days since I’ve done anything. So I imagine I’m not going to feel perfect when I start doing something."

  • It surrrre sounds like it was Marco Scutaro who broke Belt.

  • Headline idea: "Bending Baseball By Bad Back Bandit Breaks Brandon Belt's Brain!"

  • Belt explained why he started after getting hit in the face, revealing the symptoms didn't show up until later, possibly while running. He said, "After that point, it put me in a weird place. I started getting that dizziness, headaches, and just overall sick feeling."

No news was bad news. Here's some news. It's not good news yet, but it's news. The Giants are still a ways out from getting their full lineup back on the field, but it sounds like there's at least a chance of that happening.

Edit: Belt passed his concussion test. He was studying really, really hard all week.
