Saturday's most notable from the Giants' farm: Mitch Delfino homered and doubled.

AAA: Fresno lost to El Paso 8-7
(allowing go-ahead runs in both the 8th and 9th innings)

Fresno: 2B Brandon Hicks: 1 for 3, HR, BB, SO
Fresno: Guillermo Quiroz: 1 for 4, HR
El Paso: 3 for 4, 3B, 2B, BB, SO

Fresno: SP Ryan Bradley: 3.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

Hicks and Quiroz hit their 1st and 2nd (PCL) HRs.  Goebbert, playing his first PCL game in over a month after his recent stint with the Padres, reached base four times.

Up from San Jose to make a spot start in place of Edwin Escobar, Bradley had three solid innings.  He threw 51 pitches (29 strikes).

AA: Richmond lost to Erie 5-1

Richmond: 2B Matt Duffy: 2 for 4, 2B
Richmond: CF Jarrett Parker: 1 for 4, HR

Richmond: SP Ty Blach: 6.2 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB< 5 K

Parker led off the 2nd inning with his 11th HR.  Duffy had another double.  With doubles in six of his last nine games, plus 14 H over that span, his SLG is above .450.

In his nineteenth start, Blach allowed new season highs with both 5 R and 9 H.  His H/IP is now (just) above 1.00.

A+: San Jose lost to Visalia 13-5
(after trailing 8-1 entering the 6th inning)

San Jose: DH Shawn Payne: 2 for 3, 3B, 2B, BB
Visalia: 3B Brandon Drury: 2 for 4, HR, 2B, BB

San Jose: SP Joe Kurrasch: 0.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K--1 HR

Delfino connected for his 10th HR and 20th double.  With multiple hits in six straight games, including 6 XBH in that span, his season line has improved to .284/.319/.415 through 398 AB.  Payne hit his 3rd triple and 16th double.  The 25-year-old has a .370 OBP this year.  Drury, one of the Diamondbacks' better prospects, hit his 18th HR while reaching base three times.

Kurrasch faced just six batters in his thirteenth start.

A-: Augusta defeated Greensboro 8-7
(after leading 7-2 entering the 6th inning)

Augusta: CF Chris Lofton: 2 for 4, 3B, BB
Augusta: RF Tyler Horan: 2 for 4, BB (IBB), SB

Augusta: SP Robert Ramer: 4.2 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K--1 HR

Lofton and Horan each reached base three times.

After debuting with 5.0 scoreless IP in a relief appearance, Ramer has completed 5.0 IP in just one of his three starts.

ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Spokane 4-1

Salem-Keizer: SP Nicholas Gonzalez: 5.0 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K--1 HB, 1 WP

Ewing and Fargas each had three hits, raising their AVGs to .316 and .241.

Gonzalez has completed 5.0 IP in seven of his last eight starts, but yesterday he allowed a season-high 8 H.

R: Giants defeated Diamondbacks 10-5

Scottsdale: 3B Hunter Cole: 3 for 5, SB

Scottsdale: SP Matthew Gage: 3.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

Cole singled three times in his pro debut.

After beginning the summer with six relief appearances, Gage has completed 3.0 IP in both his starts.  He has a 1.98 ERA through 13.2 IP.

DSL: Gigantes defeated Rojos 4-2

Dominican: LF Carlos Valdez: 1 for 2, 2 BB
Dominican: SP Prebito Reyes: 6.0 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

The 20-year-old Valdez reached base three times, raising his OBP to .341.  The 18-year-old Reyes has been rather hittable in his pro debut with a .324 BAA (61 H in 45.1 IP).
