Sunday highlights from the Giants' farm: Chris Heston had 7.2 scoreless IP, and Kelby Tomlinson had five hits.  Also notable, Chris Dominguez, Tyler Horan, and Jeremy Sy each homered while reaching base three times.

AAA: Fresno defeated El Paso 6-0

Fresno: SP Chris Heston: 7.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 K--1 E

Dominguez connected for his 12th HR while reaching base three times.  With three singles, Noonan also reached three times.  His AVG is .244.  In his third PCL game this year, Hicks doubled twice.

Heston now has ten quality starts this year in twenty starts, including two starts with no runs allowed.

AA: Richmond defeated Harrisburg 5-4 (15 innings)

Batting leadoff today, Tomlinson had his 4th triple, 7th double, and 41st SB while reaching base six times.  With an AVG close to .400 this month, he has improved his season line to .277/.356/.327 through 300 AB.  Zambrano added three hits, raising his AVG to .271.

Blach had his second straight quality start.  He had more than 6 K for just the second time in eighteen starts.  His K/IP remains below 0.67.  Osich and Quirarte provided 4.0 perfect IP over the game's final innings.

A+: San Jose defeated Lake Elsinore 8-2
(scoring three runs in both the 5th and 7th innings)

Ragira hit his 11th HR, including his 5th HR this month.  Blair's bat remains hot, with three more hits today raising his AVG to .313.  Delfino hit his 16th and 17th doubles.

Lujan delivered his fourth straight quality start.

(scoring seven runs in the 4th inning)

Horan and Sy hit their 13th and 9th HRs.  Sy and Jones each reached base four times, while Horan reached base three times.

After five rehab starts in Arizona, Vander Tuig returned to the Sally League for his first appearance there in over two months.  He threw just 17 pitches (11 strikes), though, before a 69-minute rain delay.  Montero, the first of four GreenJacket relievers, provided effective long relief with 3.0 scoreless IP.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Boise 6-1

Salem-Keizer: SP JoseEEE Reyes: 8.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K--1 HB, 1 BK

Harrison and Pujadas combined for half of the Volcanoes' ten hits.  Both have AVGs close to .265.

Reyes made an atypically long NWL start, pitching 8.0 scoreless IP while facing just three batters over the minimum.  His lone hit allowed was a single to lead off the 6th inning.

R: Giants lost to Diamondbacks 5-0

Scottsdale: RP Brett Bochy: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Arenado's single provided one of just three baserunners for the rookie Giants, but he also committed his 6th and 7th errors in 22 games.

Gage mad his first pro start after six relief appearances.  Bochy, making his second rehab appearance, pitched a perfect 4th inning.

DSL: The Gigantes had an off-day
(The NL all-stars defeated the AL all-stars 9-7.)

NL: Mikey Edie: 0 for 2
NL: Miguel Gomez: 1 for 2, HR, SO
NL: Jose Morel: 1.0 IP, 1 K

The Gigantes had two position players in the starting lineup.  Batting leadoff, Edie took an oh-fer in two plate appearances.  Batting cleanup, Gomez homered to lead off the 2nd inning.  Morel struck out his only batter to end the 6th inning.
