(their first of two scheduled off-days in July)

(after allowing six runs in the 5th inning but rallying for six runs over the 7th and 8th innings)
Augusta: DH Ty Ross: 2 for 5, BB
Augusta: LF Rafael Rodriguez: 2 for 3, HR, BB

Augusta: RP Luis Castillo: 1.0 IP, 2 K
Rodriguez had a big game, reaching base three times. His 4th HR was a grand slam in the 8th inning. With 12 H and 3 HR over his last ten games, his SLG is up to .383 through 154 AB. Ross also reached base three times.
Making his fifth start among 24 appearances, Messner matched season highs with both 6 R and 5 ER. Black, Slania, and Castillo combined to strike out 10 of their 12 batters in 4.0 perfect IP. All three relievers have ERAs above 3.00.
ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Everett 7-5
(allowing four runs in the 8th inning)
Salem-Keizer: C Fernando Pujadas: 2 for 4, 2B
Salem-Keizer: SP Jose Reyes: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 6 K--2 HR, 1 HB
Salem-Keizer: RP Jason McCasland: 2.0 IP, 3 K
Pujadas hit his 4th double and a single, raising his AVG to .237.
After just 5 BB over his first six starts, Reyes issued a season-high 3 BB tonight. That presumably contributed to why he did not pitch into the 6th inning for just the second time this year. McCasland, making his tenth appearance this year, had 3 K in 2.0 perfect IP--his best appearance of the year considering his 13.50 ERA.
R: Scottsdale had a scheduled off-day
DSL: Gigantes defeated Mets1 7-1
Dominican: CF Mikey Edie: 3 for 5, BB
Dominican: SP Deiyerbert Bolivar: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
Edie's three singles raised his AVG to .306. Making his fourth start after five straight relief appearances, Bolivar delivered 5.0 scoreless IP.
