Cardinals vs Giants coverage
Tuesday highlights from the Giants' farm: Andrew Susac and Rafael Rodriguez both homered while reaching base three times, and Christian Jones allowed just 1 R in 7.1 IP. Also notable, Kyle Crick had 5.0 scoreless IP, and Shawn Payne reached base in all five plate appearances.

Susac led off the 2nd inning with his 7th HR. He reached base three times. Ishikawa, who had a rough night defensively in the outfield the night before, also hit his 7th HR--a two-run shot in the 4th inning.
Kickham began the game with five scoreless frames but allowed four unearned runs in the 6th inning, when his defense committed a couple errors but he also allowed five singles.

Tomlinson and Harris each had two of the Flying Squirrels' six hits, raising their AVGs to .248 and .269.
Crick had his second straight start against the Senators with 5.0 scoreless IP, lowering his ERA to 3.22. He was not particularly efficient with his pitch count, throwing 95 pitches (58 strikes). Osich and Strickland combined for 5 K in 3.1 perfect IP. Osich's ERA remains above 5.00, while Strickland got his ERA back below 4.00.

Lujan had a quality start in his second Cal League start. Johnson and McVay combined for 3 K in 2.1 perfect IP in relief of Lujan.

At least from a statistical perspective, Rodriguez may have had the best game of his pro career with 3 XBH (his 3rd HR and 4th and 5th doubles). Paulino also had three hits, although his AVG remains below .250.
Jones matched the longest appearance of his pro career with 7.1 IP. With just 2 ER over his last four start, he has improved his ERA to 2.34.

Making his fourth start this year, Miller allowed new career highs with both 6 ER and 10 H.
