Panik's three hits, including his 11th double, raised his AVG to .325. Baez, the Cubs' top prospect, connected for his 9th HR and 2nd triple, plus a single. Villanueva, another one of the Cubs' top ten prospects, hit his 6th HR while reaching base four times.
Berken had his seventh straight start allowing 4+ ER. At least he performed much more effectively than the three relievers who followed him and combined for 12 ER in 4.0 IP.
AA: Richmond lost to Reading 8-5

Villalona and Harris each had two hits, raising their AVGs to .257 and .265.
Mejia matched a season-high allowing 8 H and set a new season-high issuing 3 BB but somehow allowed just 1 ER. His ERA remains above 6.00.

(rallying with five runs in the 8th inning)

Delfino hit his 1st triple and 10th double, plus drew a walk. He entered the game hitting .286/.315/.427 through 255 AB. Turner was one of three other Giants to reach base three times.
Making his twelfth start, Stratton had a season-high 9 K. He completed 7.0 IP for the third time in his last four starts. The performance brought his ERA below 4.50.

Sim hit his 1st HR while reaching three times. His two-run blast in the 2nd inning scored the game's first runs. Bednar reached base four times. With multiple hits in six of eight games this month, he has improved his season line to .280/.308/.347 through 236 AB.
Ysla had a new career-high 9 K. With 1 ER or less in seven of his eight starts, he has a 2.38 ERA after eleven starts.

Rodriguez reached base four times. He is off to a hot start in his fourth DSL campaign hitting .458 through seven games. Morel, who is in his third DSL season, made his season debut with 3.1 scoreless IP.
