Saturday highlight from the Giants' farm: Chuckie Jones homered among three hits.  Also notable, top prospect Kyle Crick allowed just 1 R in 5.0 IP.

AAA: Fresno defeated Las Vegas 7-2
(after scoring four runs in the 1st inning)

Duvall's league-leading 19th HR scored three runs in the 1st inning, and Ciriaco's 4th HR was a solo shot in the 3rd inning.  Dykstra, whom the Padres drafted in the first rounder in 2008 and who is now with the Mets, hit his 9th HR while reaching base in all four plate appearances.

Lively matched a season-high 8 K and had just his second quality start this year (in 8 GS).  His ERA remains above 6.00.

AA: Richmond defeated Reading 5-1
(scoring two runs in both the 6th and 9th innings)

Richmond: 1B Ricky Oropesa: 2 for 4, 2B
Richmond: PH Angel Villalona: 1 for 1, HR

Richmond: SP Kyle Crick: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K--1 HR, 1 HB

With his 4th double and a single, Oropesa was the lone Flying Squirrel with two hits.  Villalona connected for his 9th HR as a pinch hitter in the 9th inning.

For the fourth time in his last five starts, Crick allowed 1 R or less.  Through ten starts, he is averaging less than 4.0 IP per start (39.0 IP so far).  In this start, he threw 90 pitches (62 strikes).

A+: San Jose defeated Modesto 9-3
(after scoring five runs in the 3rd inning)

Jones had his 5th HR and 4th triple, plus a single.  The performance raised his SLG above .400.  Turner's four singles paced the Giants' fifteen-hit attack.  Miller added three hits, including his 16th and 17th doubles.

Young's eleventh start set a new season-high with 6.2 IP as he finished the 6th inning for the first time this year.  He also matched his season high with 7 K.  Johnson struck out three of his five batters, although his K/IP remains below 1.00.  After issuing 13 BB in 8.2 IP in April, he has greatly improved that rate since, issuing just 7 BB in 21.1 IP.

Polonius's third-straight multi-hit game raised his AVG to .242.

Jones made his second straight start against the Legend and yielded 3 ER in both those starts.  He has a 3.28 ERA in 46.2 IP through ten starts.

DSL: Gigantes defeated Cardinals 3-2

Dominican: RF Robinson Medrano: 3 for 4, 3B
Dominican: SP Eber Guzman: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K--2 HB

After a .550 OPS in his first DSL campaign, Medrano is off to a hot start in his second campaign, with an OPS currently over 1.000 through 30 AB.  Guzman has allowed just 1 R in 5.0 IP in both starts this year.
