Monday highlight from the Giants' farm: Edwin Escobar allowed just 1 R in 7.0 IP.

AAA: Fresno defeated Sacramento 5-2
(scoring four runs in the 7th inning)

Fresno: DH Adam Duvall: 1 for 4, HR, SO
Fresno: 3B Juan Ciriaco: 1 for 2, BB

Fresno: SP Edwin Escobar: 7.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K

Duvall connected for his (organization-leading?) 16th HR.  Ciriaco has reached base seven times through the first three games of this series, but his OBP remains just .286.

Escobar had one of his strongest starts this year, matching a season high with 7.0 IP.  With 1 ER in two of his last three starts, he has improved his ERA to 4.82 through twelve starts.  Today he threw 100 pitches (60 strikes).

AA: Richmond had an off-day
(Their only other scheduled off-day before their mid-July all-star break is June 16.)

A+: San Jose defeated Inland Empire 6-4
(scoring in each of the 3rd through 7th innings)

San Jose: LF Shawn Payne: 2 for 5, 2 SB

San Jose: SP Joe Biagini: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K--1 HR, 1 HB, 1 WP

With two singles, Payne was the lone Giant with two hits.  He has a 13/5 SB/CS line this year.

Biagini had his third straight quality start and a season-high 8 K.  After ten starts, his component stats are 57 H, 19 BB, 2 HR, and 43 K in 57.1 IP.

A-: Augusta lost to Rome 6-5

Augusta: SP Chase Johnson: 3.0+ IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 3 K--3 HB
Augusta: RP Steven Messner: 5.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

Bednar began the season hitting .294 in April, then hitting just .218 in May, and now has two hits in each of his first two games in June.  His season line is .268/.297/.344 through 209 AB.

With 4+ ER in each of his last four starts, Johnson's ERA has risen to 6.25.  Messner went a career-high 5.1 IP in long relief.

DSL: Gigantes defeated Yankees1 6-1

Dominican: 1B Anthony Gomez: 2 for 3, 2B, BB
Dominican: SP Eber Guzman: 5.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K

Gomez, who is in his third DSL season, reached base three times.  Guzman delivered a solid start to begin his third DSL campaign.
