Wednesday highlights from the Giants' farm: Matt Duffy and Eliezer Zambrano each homered while reaching base four times, and starters Chris Heston, Kendry Flores, and Carlos Diaz combined to allow just 1 R in 21.0 IP.  Also notable, Nick Noonan had four hits.

AAA: Fresno defeated Iowa 10-1
(after leading 7-1 entering the 4th inning)

Noonan's four hits, including his 4th double, paced the Grizzlies' thirteen-hit attack.  Brown, playing his sixth PCL game after 34 games earlier this year in the Cal League, reached base three times.  Duvall's league-leading 20th HR was a three-run shot in the 1st inning.

Heston delivered his second straight quality start, lowering his ERA to 3.88.  Runzler has a 0.95 ERA after his perfect 8th inning.

AA: Richmond defeated Trenton 10-4
(after leading 5-3 entering the 3rd inning)

Richmond: SS Matt Duffy: 4 for 5, HR, SO
Richmond: C Eliezer Zambrano: 3 for 4, HR, BB

Richmond: SP Jack Snodgrass: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K--1 HB

Duffy and Zambrano hit their 2nd and 1st HRs while each reached base four times.  Combining for half of the Flying Squirrels' fourteen hits, they raised their AVGs to .351 and .344.

Snodgrass allowed 3 ER in the 1st inning that raised his ERA above 2.50, but he came back with four scoreless frames to prevent his ERA from rising any further.

A+: San Jose lost to Stockton 3-1
(allowing all three runs in the 8th inning)

San Jose: DH Shawn Payne: 1 for 2, 2 BB

San Jose: SP Kendry Flores: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K

Payne had one of the Giants' five hits (all singles) and two of their three walks.  He has hit .288/.382/.500 in 118 AB since joining San Jose in late April.

Flores had one of his best starts of the year.  Through twelve starts, his component stats are 67 H, 21 BB, 9 HR, and 63 K in 60.2 IP.

A-: Augusta lost to Rome 3-2 (14 innings)
(allowing two runs in the 9th inning)

Augusta: 2B Brandon Bednar: 2 for 4, 3 BB

Augusta: SP Carlos Diaz: 8.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K

Bednar reached base five times.  Hitting .415 in ten June games, he has raised his season OBP to nearly .320.

Diaz enjoyed one of the best starts by a Giants' farmhand this year, facing just three batters over the minimum in 8.0 scoreless IP.  His ERA remains above 4.00.

DSL: Gigantes defeated Orioles2 3-1

Dominican: SP Victor Concepcion: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K--2 WP

The 17-year-old Geraldo had his second career multi-hit game, raising his AVG to .250.  The 17-year-old Concepcion had his second straight start allowing just 1 R.
