Thursday highlights from the Giants' farm: Chris Dominguez homered twice, Jarrett Parker homered while reaching three times, and Joe Biagini allowed just 1 R in 6.0 IP.

AAA: Fresno defeated El Paso 7-4
(scoring four runs in the 6th inning to take a 6-0 lead)

Fresno: LF Tyler Colvin: 1 for 4, HR, 2 SO
Fresno: C Andrew Susac: 2 for 3, 2B, BB, PB
Fresno: RF Chris Dominguez: 2 for 4, 2 HR, 2 SO

Fresno: SP David Huff: 3.0 IP, 3 H, 1 K
Fresno: RP Jason Berken: 6.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

Dominguez had a pair of two-run HRs for his 3rd and 4th HRs this year.  Colvin connected for his 2nd HR--a solo shot leading off the 8th inning.  Susac played his first game in over two weeks and reached base three times.

Huff delivered 3.0 scoreless IP in his first rehab appearance.  He threw 46 pitches (32 strikes).  Berken, the ace of the Grizzlies' staff so far, had his least effective start, allowing a season-high 4 R.  His ERA rose to 2.57.

AA: Richmond lost to Erie 6-5
(allowing the SeaWolves to score in each of the 5th through 8th innings)

Richmond; CF Tyler Graham: 1 for 3, BB, HBP, 2 SB
Richmond: RF Jarrett Parker: 1 for 3, HR, 2 BB, 2 SO

Richmond: SP Adalberto Mejia: 6.0 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 6 K--1 HR

Parker hit his 2nd HR.  Both he and Graham reached base three times.  The 30-year-old Graham has a .418 OBP and 14 SB--both of which rank in the top five in the ten-team Eastern League.

Mejia allowed a season-high 8 H but still finished with his second quality start this year.

A+: San Jose defeated Modesto 4-1
(scoring two runs in both the 4th and 8th innings)

San Jose: C Trevor Brown: 0 for 2, 2 BB

San Jose: SP Joe Biagini: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 7 K--1 WP
San Jose: RP Mason McVay: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 3 K

Brown was the lone Giant to reach base twice.  The Giants' tenth rounder two years ago has hit .203/.267/.319 in 69 AB.

Biagini had a WHIP of 1.50 within this start but kept the damage to a single run, in part because of his season-high 7 K.

A-: Augusta lost to Delmarva 6-0
(allowing five runs over the 6th and 7th innings)

Augusta: C Ty Ross: 1 for 3

Augusta: SP Keury Mella: 5.1 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 6 K--1 HB

The GreenJackets' offense managed just five singles.  Ross, the Giants' twelfth rounder last year who had one of the singles, has hit .225/.297/.279 through 89 AB in his first full pro season.

Mella began the game with 4.0 scoreless IP before yielding 1 ER in the 5th inning and 3 ER in the 6th inning.  Over his last four starts, he has an excellent K/BB ratio but has been rather hittable (26 H, 3 BB, and 20 K in 21.1 IP).
