Susac's string of multiple-hit games was snapped, but he did connect for his 1st HR and with a walk still reached base twice. Abreu also homered, leading off the 3rd inning with a solo shot before departing the game later in the inning. Panik was the lone Grizzly with two hits, including his 1st triple. Boesch, the 29-year-old from Cal who has 45 HRs in MLB over the last four years and who is now in the Angels' organization, hit his 1st HR this year.
Heston allowed half hits batters (10 of 20) to reach base. He allowed 4 ER in the 4th inning to take the loss.

Brown had one of just three hits (all singles) for the Giants and scored their lone run.
Biagini had an excellent Cal League debut, facing just two batters over the minimum in 6.0 scoreless IP. Okert had 2 K in a perfect 8th inning. Velasquez, one of the Astros' top ten prospects, struck out nearly half his batters in 4.0 perfect IP.
