Friday's most notable from the Giants farm: Carlos Diaz allowed 2 R in 6.1 IP.

A+: San Jose defeated Bakersfield 5-3
(scoring all five runs in the 7th inning)

San Jose: DH Mac Williamson: 2 for 3, BB

San Jose: SP Pat Young: 3.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 2 K

Williamson was the lone Giant with two hits.  Multiple hits in six of his last eight games have raised his AVG to .325.

Young had his shortest start of the season, not completing 5.0 IP for the first time in four starts.  Over his last three starts, he has issued 8 BB in 13.2 IP.  His season WHIP is now close to 1.50, although his ERA remains below 3.50.

A-: Augusta lost to Asheville 2-1

With two hits each, Sy and Horan combined for half the GreenJackets' eight hits.  Horan's 6th double was the team's lone XBH.  Sy has a .370 OBP in seven games.

Diaz's fourth start was his longest this year.  He began with 5.0 scoreless IP before allowing 1 ER in both the 6th and 7th innings.  After a 4.99 ER in 39.2 IP last summer in the AZL, he has 2.61 ERA through 20.2 IP this year.
