A+: San Jose lost to Visalia 4-2
(losing their playoff opener after allowing three runs in the 6th inning)

San Jose: 1B Ricky Oropesa: 2 for 4
San Jose: LF Devin Harris: 1 for 4, HR, SO
San Jose: DH Ryan Cavan: 1 for 3, BB

San Jose: SP Ty Blach: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K--1 HB, 1 WP
San Jose: RP Austin Fleet: 1.0 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 K
San Jose: RP Pat Young: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 4 K

Oropesa was the lone Giant with two hits.  Cavan, drawing the Giants' only walk, also reached base twice.  Harris hit a solo HR in the 9th inning.

Blach was effective in his start, limiting the Rawhide to one run.  But he was less efficient with his pitch count, reaching 95 pitches (63 strikes) in 5.0 IP, and so was not around for the 6th inning, when Fleet allowed 3 ER on a walk and three singles.  Young, who had begun his career with two AZL appearances and eight NWL starts before being added to San Jose's roster for their playoffs, struck out four of his nine batters in 3.0 scoreless IP in relief.
